Hawaii State Assessments
The Hawaii State Assessments will begin soon.  This letter went home on Wednesday, September 28th, 2016, via advisory informing our families of the testing periods.
Screenagers
With personal electronics an everyday part of our students' lives, it's impossible to ignore.  Family dinners have gone silent while each family member is on his/her own device.  Conversations that used to happen in the car on the way to school are non-existent as students are more engaged with who commented or liked their social media post than talking to mom or dad.  If this sounds familiar and you'd like to do something about it, you can attend a screening of the movie "Screenagers" being presented at the KCC Performing Arts Center on Saturday, October 1st, 2016, at 6:30 pm.  Pre-sale tickets are $8 for adults and $5 for students.  Tickets purchased at the door are $10 for adults and $7 for students (cash only).  You can see more information about the movie here.
SCREENAGERS probes into the vulnerable corners of family life, including the director’s own, and depicts messy struggles over social media, video games, academics and internet addiction. Through surprising insights from authors and neuro- scientists, solutions emerge on how we can empower kids to best navigate the digital world.
School Portraits -  Makeups
Herbie's Photography will be back to take school portrait makeups at a later date this year if your child missed his/her opportunity during picture taking the week of August 15-19.  Once we finalize when this date will be, we will let everyone know.  Mahalo!
